Pray for those in Chile

Hello...

I have friends in Chile. Their names are Mike and Tabi and their parents haven't heard from them and other missionary friends of mine that live in Chile haven't been able to contact them. So please pray for them! Pray for God's glory to come from this situation in Chile as much as possible!

I will update as soon as I know anything!

I JUST HEARD FROM TABI! Praise the Lord for when He answers quickly!!! They are fine, the only damage they have is a broken plate. Other than that phone lines are down and whatnot...but they are fine! Pray for those who aren't fine and for those in Hawaii and the Pacific Islands!!!

Hairy man!

So, I was just reading about Isaac , and how he blessed Jacob (his second born) instead of Esau (his firstborn). The story is in Genesis 27.

I would like to say that I have some deep and profound thoughts about this story...but I can't get past laughing about the fact that Jacob and his mom deceived Isaac by putting goat skins on him. I don't think I have ever met anyone THAT hairy!!! HA! Imagine petting a goat....now imagine that feeling while petting your son's arm...oh my!

In Genesis 25:23 God told Rebekah that Jacob would receive the blessing instead of Esau. I DO wonder why she couldn't just trust God to take care of it instead of stepping in to deceive Isaac. God is beyond having to prove Himself...but I take comfort in the fact that she was human and I can relate to her in that I sometimes try and do things on my own instead of waiting on God.

Knit together

God is so good and most certainly faithful!

He doesn't ever fail me, but when I choose other things above Him I am unable to be filled by Him.

I have been thinking about and studying Creation a little bit. It is so fascinating! Beth Moore touches on Creation in her study, "Believing God" and I love the following quote from her Bible study book:

"I learned that about 2 meters of DNA can be found in every human cell, each packaged with 46 chromosomes in and infinitesimal nucleus. While Darwin sat at his desk and reduced all of creation to simple blobs of protoplasm, the outstretched DNA in his body could have reached back and forth to the sun about 50 times. Charles Darwin was fearfully and wonderfully made. He just never knew it. So are you, Dear one."

I am not here to argue against Charles Darwin...The thing that sticks out to me is the complexity of the human body and how marvellously and wonderfully we are made. It is beyond my comprehension that something that is so small within us (DNA) could stretch to town and back, let alone to the sun and back 50 TIMES!!!

I also LOVE the following description that David gives us in Psalm 139:14-18

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand.
When I awake,
I am still with you.

Not only are we made so intricately by our Creator...He is so personally involved with us that He has searched us, and taken the time to KNIT US TOGETHER. He knit every inch of that DNA within us together...It takes a while to knit, and those that knit, usually consider each stitch carefully and if not perfect, may back up and remove stitches to perfect them to their liking.

I can imagine our Creator doing that for each of us, personally knitting each of us together...What a cool picture!!!

Let it snow......

The snow here fell to the tune of about 16 inches a couple of days ago! I stayed with Ryan and his family because we knew the snow was coming and I didn't want to be stuck in town all alone!

The snow is fabulous...it stops the world around us from going by so quickly. We take the time to enjoy rest, each other, and I stopped and enjoyed the Lord. In the stillness of this snowy Sunday I thought I would rest in His Word instead of snoozing, so I will post some Scriptures here as I come across anything He lays on my heart to share and I will also post some pictures from the snow as well!

"Though the mountains be shaken
and the hills be removed,
yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken
nor my covenant of peace be removed,"
says the LORD, who has compassion on you."
--Isaiah 54:10

"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
--Psalm 46:10

"The grass withers and the flowers fall,
because the breath of the LORD blows on them.
Surely the people are grass.

The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God stands forever."

--Isaiah 40:7-8

Toooooo long!

"Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." Psalm 25:4-5

I have been away from blogging for a while now...too long if you ask me.

To be a little more transparent, I have been spending little to no time with my Lord and my life has been suffering because of it...so, I am going to be more intentional about time with Him. I have lost part of who I am somehow in the past month or so...the songs that used to flow so easily from my lips have slowed and the words that flowed through my fingertips onto this keyboard have stopped altogether...so, be in prayer for me. Pray that my time and energy would be where HE wants it.

I pray you all would have the time you need with Him...and that we would continue growing as His body of believers...More to come!

For now, these pictures just makes me smile...cause I miss my family and friends at home!
